Accident Prone Areas in Singapore

Not to say that some places have totally no accidents.  But some locations in Singapore are bound for accidents especially during peak hours or the night time, where visibility is not so good.  Here are some of the roads that had higher statistics of accidents.

PIE

Pan island Expressway stretches 42.8km ( a little more than the length of a marathon), it is Singapore’s longest highway,  it has a high rate of accidents especially around the Eng Neo Entrance and exit where the roads are winding.  The visibility along the stretch is also not that good a night.  With heavy traffic jamming during the peak hours, it can cause some unexpected accidents from time to time.  PIE also links to BKE , which tends to have more heavy vehicles moving to the North.  Therefore it is also essential that motorists be very careful when along that stretch.

Bukit Timah Road

It is usually along the stretch from the cross junction at Singapore Chinese Girls’ school to the Anglo Chinese School.  Especially so during rainy days.  The stretch of road tend to flood easily and therefore creates higher chance for accidents.  The road is also very jammed during peak hours and parents sending or fetching kids from schools.

Upper Serangoon Road

This is from the Bradell Road, where vehicles are turning into the Serangoon area.  If you are not taking the Bartley underpass, there is a high chance that you will get jammed at the area with chances of accidents.  This is especially in the morning where traffic is very congested.  Do drive carefully!

Thomson Road

The stretch after Bishan turn in is always very congested during peak hours.  As many vehicles are trying to get into CTE and the vehicles merging into the road makes it especially challenging.

There are many other roads in Singapore that are easily accident prone.  But from observation, you will realise it is always the dividers, round about, mergers where many motorist tend to lose it and hit each other.  Do make sure you concentrate when you are driving along these places.
